Durham's final report is RELEASED: FBI had NO evidence to investigate Trump-Russia collusion - WSTPost (2024)

Special Counsel John Durham concluded in a damning report obtained by DailyMail.com on Monday that the FBI did not have enough “factual evidence” to investigate allegations of collusion between Trump and Russia.

Durham’s report is a summary of findings related to whether the then-Trump campaign colluded with Russia to interfere in the election outcome in 2016.

The Special Counsel delivered the report of his four-year investigation, which cost more than $6 million in taxpayer dollars, to top members of Congress, including Senate Judiciary Chair Dick Durbin and Ranking Member Lindsey Graham, House Judiciary Chair , Jim Jordan, and ranking member, Jerry Nadler.

The more than 300-page report said the Justice Department and FBI “have failed in their mandate of strict adherence to the law.”

Durham writes: “Based on evidence gathered during the numerous extensive and costly federal investigations into these matters, including the present investigation, neither US law enforcement nor the intelligence community appeared to have any actual evidence of collusion as of the beginning of the year to have in their holdings.’ the Crossfire Hurricane Investigation.’

Special Counsel John Durham released his much-anticipated report on Monday

Crossfire Hurricane was the internal codename for an FBI investigation that began in 2016 to probe possible links between the Trump campaign at the time and Russia.

In the meantime, however, it turned out that the entire basis of the investigation was based on false information.

Special Counsel John Durham was hired by then-Attorney General Bill Barr in 2019 to investigate wrongdoing related to the Crossfire Hurricane probe.

“The speed and manner in which the FBI opened up and investigated Crossfire Hurricane during the presidential election season based on raw, unanalyzed and uncorroborated intelligence information also reflected a marked departure from the way it has approached previous affairs, which addressed possible attempts at foreign election derivation schemes against Clinton “campaign,” the report continued.

“FBI records prepared by Strzok in February and March 2017 show that at the time Crossfire Hurricane opened, the FBI had no information in its possession that indicated that anyone on Trump’s campaign team was involved at any point during the campaign.” had been in contact with Russian intelligence officials.” ‘

The document goes on to describe many of the FBI’s missteps in initially opening the investigation, which was based on an unverified dossier by British spy Christopher Steele.

“Our investigation found that Crossfire Hurricane investigators could not and could not confirm any of the substantive claims contained in Steele’s reporting.”

The report mentions Igor Danchenko – Steele’s main sub-source – who says that Danchenko also “was unable to provide corroborative evidence to support Steele’s allegations”.

Durham accuses the FBI of failing to interview Charles Dolan — a Democratic public relations agent who was linked to Dmitry Peskov, Russian President Vladimir Putin’s press secretary, and a “reliable source” for at least one of those included in the Steele report allegations was.

The report contains harsh language, saying that the FBI’s submissions under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) were not prepared out of a mission of “strict allegiance to the law.”

FBI officials who worked on the FISA filing “exhibited, at best, a cavalier attitude toward accuracy and completeness” and “repeatedly disregarded key requirements,” Durham says.

He says it’s evidence that FBI officials “did not really believe there was probable reason to believe that the target was knowingly involved in classified intelligence activities on behalf of a foreign power.”

House Judiciary Speaker Jim Jordan confirmed to DailyMail.com that he will ask Durham to appear before his committee next week. He has already contacted the DOJ regarding his claim.

Attorney General Merrick Garland reportedly received the report last Friday before it was sent to Congress on Monday.

Trump, before and after leaving office, has repeatedly railed against the Russia probe, calling it a “witch hunt” and repeatedly deriding it as “Russia, Russia, Russia.”

Durham has successfully secured a conviction as part of his years-long investigation: former FBI attorney Kevin Clinesmith.

Clinesmith pleaded guilty to illegally altering an email that was then used as the basis for issuing a “surveillance warrant” against Carter Page, who served as a Trump campaign aide in 2016.

This is breaking news and will be updated.
